My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is about discovery and rediscovery of the self, removing what is false and bolstering and connecting to the innate strength and wisdom within the individual or couple. Symptom reduction and changes happen as a result of becoming more aware and connected to one's true nature and removing the obstacles to this inner truth.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love being of service to others and helping in a beautiful process of transformation that occurs through quality collaborative psychotherapy. I feel very passionate about individuals experiencing empowerment through the counseling work in their capacity to live more fully and feel empowered through self-healing.
My Role as a Therapist
As a therapist, I primarily see myself as a facilitator and guide on the path towards self-knowledge and healing. Strength and healing is a natural capacity for all humans and our capacity to connect to others in relationship. My job is mostly to bring awareness to what is working in client's lives and their strengths, and what is getting in the way of embodying these natural capacities. Then working together with clients to find creative ways of living and expressing what is already inside them.
