How to Self-Publish Your Book and Position Yourself as an Expert in Your Niche

Presented by Mercedes Samudio, LCSW on 08-06-2018 at 9 a.m. Pacific (noon Eastern) to 10:00 a.m. Pacific (1:00 p.m. Eastern)

Writing and publishing a book is a significant accomplishment, and many mental health professionals have set writing a book as a goal for themselves. However, the journey to writing and publishing a book can feel daunting. You may wonder if you have the experience or expertise to craft a compelling book. You may feel that not having done enough research is a major barrier to writing the book you've always wanted to write. You may question whether you have the time to commit to the writing process on top of all the other tasks and duties you have in your life. Sifting through the self-publishing world may also feel intimidating.

In this 60-minute marketing webinar, Mercedes Samudio, LCSW will discuss her decision to write and self-publish her book, Shame-Proof Parenting, now an award-winning Amazon bestseller. She will share insights on selecting a topic, explore the experiences she encountered during the writing process, and discuss how to create a compelling book that both clients and clinicians may benefit from. She will also explain the potential benefits of hiring a book coach and share how this might help you publish a book you are proud of. Finally, Mercedes will discuss how to market your book, use it as a source for passive income, and how to use it to obtain speaking opportunities.

This introductory instructional level web conference is designed to help clinicians:

  1. Plan how to narrow down a book topic and organize ideas.
  2. Explain the writing process from beginning to end.
  3. Discuss strategies for writing a book that will captivate an audience.
  4. Create a marketing plan that will help a book succeed once published.
  5. Recognize how to leverage a book for speaking opportunities.
