Meditation Practice for a Healthier Brain

Presented by Daniel J. Siegel, MD on 05-10-2019 at 9 a.m. Pacific (noon Eastern) to 11 a.m. Pacific (2 p.m. Eastern)

Developing a practice to focus attention, open awareness, and cultivate kind intention can help clients grow a healthier brain and reduce fear, anxiety, and stress in their lives. This web conference explores the science behind the effectiveness of meditation and can teach participants how to bring into practice the principle which states, “Where attention goes, neural firing flows, and neural connection grows.”

In this 2-hour continuing education web conference, Daniel J. Siegel, MD will provide practical instruction for mastering the Wheel of Awareness. The Wheel of Awareness can be a life-changing tool which allows clients to cultivate more focus, presence, and peace in their day-to-day lives.

Whether you are a beginner or are experienced with having a reflective practice, this web conference can give you tools to help your clients become more focused and present. This web conference can also help your clients gain more energy and emotional resilience in the face of stressful experiences and everyday challenges.

This introductory instructional level web conference is designed to help clinicians:

  1. Describe a definition of the mind from an interpersonal neurobiology perspective.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of how the mind, brain, and relationships are part of one reality.
  3. Discuss the nature of memory in its implicit and explicit form.
  4. Recognize the impact of a state of mind on interpersonal functioning.
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of how energy and information flow are part of the functioning of the mind, brain, and relationships from an interpersonal neurobiology perspective.
