This 2-hour continuing education course for therapists focuses on highly effective models of treatment and clinical strategies to address emotional disorders and addictive behaviors.
Dr. Phil Feldman, LCSW will discuss how therapists can integrate Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in treatment. He will also review core Motivational Intervewing skills, including:
Dr. Feldman will also focus on CBT skills to help client’s identify their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, cognitive distortions, and ways to increase their commitment toward Goals. He will explain clients treatment progress, potential resistance, and clinical responses.

It is consistent with the ethics code of the NASW and the American Psychological Association. A significant body of research suggests that these methods are effective and safe when properly applied. There are no known contraindications for this modality. A list of references supporting the course content will be provided to participants.

Before the scheduled event, all registered attendees will be sent a reminder email from GoodTherapy with specific instructions on how to log in to the webinar, as well as links to optional handout materials if applicable.
To attend the event, registered attendees will log in to the Microsoft Teams web conference center using a computer or device with internet access and/or call into the teleconference line on a phone. Attendees will be able to submit questions during the webinar via text chat in the Microsoft Teams web conference center and will be able to see the live streaming video and/or document sharing.
At the conclusion of this event, participants will receive an email with information about how to request a CE certificate in your GoodTherapy Account. To confirm attendance, participants must enter the start code and end code announced at the beginning and end of the live presentation. Participants will also be prompted to complete an online survey evaluating the event. Participants will need to complete this online survey within six days after the event. Once completed, participants will be able to download a copy of their CE certificate right away by logging in to their GoodTherapy account.

Dr. Phil Feldman has 35 years of experience as a Clinical Director, Psychotherapist, and Supervisor. He is currently the Clinical Director at Journey to Wellness substance abuse program in New Jersey.
Dr. Feldman has taught numerous clinical topics as a Senior Lecturer at Rutgers University MSW Program since 1995. As a professional speaker, he has presented more than 350 Clinical Seminars. In addition, he is the author of:

- Shame Affect- Theory, Research and Clinical Treatment
Dr. Feldman completed his PhD at Rutgers University, MSW at Yeshiva University, and BA at Emory College.
