Chandler is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona. It is named after real estate developer and veterinarian A.J. Chandler. Chandler has a land area of 64 square miles. The city was founded in the 1890s and incorporated in 1920.

Chandler has a population of 253,000 people. The population grew by 7% from 2010 to 2017. The city is home to 13,700 military veterans.

The racial composition of Chandler is 62% white, 20% Hispanic, 9% Asian, and 5% black. Foreign-born people make up 15% of the population. Twenty-three percent of residents have a native language other than English. Roughly 31,300 Spanish speakers and 4,600 Chinese speakers live in Chandler.
