My Approach to Helping
Alexander received his Bachelors degree in Psychology and Masters degree in Professional Counseling at Texas A&M University. He has had experience working with populations of ages 12 through 65, working with various issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, family conflict, communication, trauma, anger management, stress, video game addiction, and more.
Alexander utilizes a person-centered approach that focuses on holistic wellness to create a safe and non-judgmental environment, and will commonly include principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Solution Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy.
When working with clients, Alexander seeks a learning opportunity from each new individual he meets and aims to utilize the experiences he encounters in his daily work to help each person he comes across. He believes that although clients are their own expert in these experiences, people often will need to find new tools or new perspectives in order to resolve personal conflict.
