My Approach to Helping
I received a Bachelor’s of Social Work at Brigham Young University-Idaho and a Master’s of Social Work with a direct practice in mental health and substance abuse at The University of Texas at Arlington. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have experience working in substance use treatment, dual diagnosis work release, and probation programs, as well as my most recent work being at an eating disorder treatment center for adolescents and adults.
I enjoy working with clients of all ages but especially enjoy working with adolescents and young adults dealing with depression, anxiety, substance use and/or eating disorders. I focuse on using Person-centered Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (MI) in my therapeutic approach. I believe that we all have the capacity to change and the ability to recognize and control our emotional responses. My goal as a therapist is to make you feel heard, understood, and empowered.
