My Approach to Helping
Are you feeling overwhelmed by day to day life? Are you starting to think the changes you want to make are out of reach? Do you find yourself talking to family and friends only to hear yourself talk but feeling as if you aren’t getting anywhere? Choosing therapy can bring you out of the cycle. Working collaboratively with a therapist who is objective, focused on you, and helping you develop realistic strategies and plans, can help!
I enjoy working with people who want to develop increased self-awareness and gain more skills to maintain genuine, lasting changes. In addition to models of therapy that you may be familiar with, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I have training in techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and EMDR, which use sensory input to process emotions. This is especially useful when working with trauma and anxiety. If you are seeking a faith-based approach, my training in both counseling and theology has helped equip me to integrate spirituality and psychology when this is requested.
Since you are considering counseling, I imagine you desire to make some changes in your life. I look forward to working with you and would be honored to accompany you during this portion of your journey.
