My Approach to Helping
Hi, I'm Dr. Adam Weissman, Founder & Director of The Child & Family Institute and Weissman Children’s Foundation. I'm an avid traveler, adventurer, creator, collector, and the proud dad of two young boys. I specialize in the transdiagnostic assessment and treatment of pediatric anxiety, depression, habit, attention, and behavior disorders, including my new Compassionate Parent Training program, and Feelings Fuzzies book series for young children. Our team specializes in most things within the realm of evidence-based treatment--from OCD, habits, and tics, to phobias, trauma, panic, and selective mutism, to learning, attention, behavior problems, parenting, and family conflict, to health and sports psychology.
I'm an authentic guy with a ton of lived experience, who loves to laugh and connect deeply, which I think are assets in the therapy room and create unique opportunities for trust-building, meaningful connection, and transformational change, well beyond your traditional cognitive and behavioral therapies, or eclectic, evidence-based approach. I'm available for private in-home sessions, texts and phone calls between sessions as clinically indicated, as well as other special circumstances given the wishes of the client and careful ethical considerations.
I also run a doctoral training program through CFI, training the next generation of culturally informed and connected, compassionate, data-driven future psychologists. And my private concierge practice directly supports pro bono services for underserved children and families through the Weissman Children’s Foundation.
