My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 10 years of experience, working in a variety of settings such as community and state agencies, private practice, outpatient, and hospital settings, where I have served young children to older adults. I am currently licensed in the States of Georgia and Texas. I earned my Master's in Professional Counseling and completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also a board-certified National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors, a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC) through the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor in the State of Georgia. I am an entrepreneur and I enjoy working with people from all walks of life. I have a passion for selective mental health areas. My areas of experience are working with clients with a variety of mental health diagnoses, mood diagnoses, career and life changes, anxiety, self-esteem, stress and anger management, substance abuse, and relationship issues, women's issues, and caregiver issues. I use the following therapeutic approaches in treatment: person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, brief therapy, and rational emotive behavior therapy. My approach in counseling is to identify thoughts and unhealthy control mechanisms that create pain and suffering and push clients to effective actions that create a healthy and meaningful life. I also understand there is no one therapeutic approach that fits all, and I am constantly utilizing eclectic approaches to treat clients based on their individual needs. I welcome the opportunity to assist you on your mental health journey. Therapy is a huge step to take and will bring about some level of discomfort. However, uncomfortable situations have the power to create change. If you are ready or considering taking this step, I am ecstatic to begin working with you!
