My Approach to Helping
When you feel empty, hopeless and helpless inside and the void can no longer be filled with obsessive and compulsive behaviors, understand that hope and help are available. When you enter counseling you'll begin to discover how to find your "power voice" and understand "why" you or your partner sometimes behave against your own better judgment. Together, we'll work on proven methods of challenging your "demons" and prevention methods to help you live a life worth living instead of moving down the sinkhole of lust, addiction, abusive relationships and toxic communication issues. All in a confidential atmosphere of non-judgment and acceptance. You are accepted for who you are and have the ability to change with professional help.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I, Allan J. Katz have been helping individuals with sex and love addiction for over 10 years and now as a licensed professional I have expanded my practice to help couples with relationship issues, infidelity and the betrayal trauma caused by sexual addiction. I also facilitate a group for men with intimacy and relationship issues every Monday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
The duration and frequency of addiction and trauma therapy depends on the extent of the problem. After an initial consultation and assessment, I will make a determination as to the length of time I estimate it will take to recover. Once a week for at least 10 weeks is recommended to explore the root causes, understand the baffling and powerful extent of diseases and disorders and mapping out a relapse prevention program to be an adjunct to regular therapy.
