My Approach to Helping
Hello there. Thanks for stopping by to check out my profile. I'm Amanda. I don't know your story yet, but I'd love to. My approach to counseling depends on who you are and what you need. I understand that you are not a diagnosis, but a person, and an original one at that. Experiences you've had have shaped your feelings and how you relate to your world. I believe we can work together to help you feel better and become more of the person you want to be. Please know that you are not alone and this is not the end of your story. Give me a call, shoot me a text, or email if you want to learn more or set up a time to talk.
More Info About My Practice
I opened Vitality Counseling several years ago because I had a dream of growing a team of healthy, well-trained and empathic counselors who can rely on one another's clinical strengths and knowledge to grow professionally and ultimately provide excellent care for our clients. What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I truly believe that I have the best job in the world. It is a joy to be invited into someone's story, sharing in their pain and celebrating their wins. I get a front row seat to the most significant moments of people's lives. I find my work to be deeply meaningful. I love learning about and from people. I also love that I get to witness people getting better, discovering who they are and owning what they are capable of. Yeah, it's pretty special.
My Therapy Focus
I want you to actually see progress. I use a variety of treatment approaches that are supported by research to promote progress. My first focus is the strength of our relationship because research shows this is the most important factor in client success. We will co-create a treatment plan that is most likely to work for you. I teach skills, work on adjusting thinking, help you discover insights into your life and help you navigate deep questions about yourself and your life. I love feedback and will adjust my approach as necessary. Please contact me if you have more specific questions about the treatment process.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
"Do I really need therapy? Will it work for me? After all, therapy is for people with serious problems. I don't want anyone to think I am weak. I tried it before and had a bad experience." Does this sound like you? Whatever your reasons for reservation, I get it. Even if you are comfortable with counseling, making that first call can feel so overwhelming.
If you are unsure, please know: Therapy is helpful if you find the right counselor who is compassionate, listens well and uses proven techniques. Anyone can benefit from therapy, even those with everyday life concerns. Therapy is completely confidential. Therapy attendees are strong and wise because they are willing to face the challenges that all of us experience.
Making the first move isn't easy, but perhaps you will be really glad you did.
