My Approach to Helping
Everyone deserves to live a meaningful, fulfilling life no matter their background, age, or circumstance. Amanda is passionate about helping
As a licensed professional counselor, Amanda has helped clients struggling with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment, self-esteem, stress management, life transitions, behavior and academic concerns, school refusal, and more. She works with many age groups from children as young as five to the elderly. Amanda has experience working with highly diverse client populations in a variety of mental health settings. She has worked in community-based agencies, a telehealth pediatric program, school districts, and a university counseling center. She is well-versed in completing psychological assessments and providing crisis interventions.
She incorporates a variety of evidenced-based therapeutic modalities and techniques to build meaningful alliances with all her clients. She understands that what works for one person may not work for another. She takes a person-centered approach, individualizing care to each client. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, grounding techniques, and more. Amanda received her bachelor’s in psychology from Texas A&M University and her master’s in counseling from St. Edward’s University.
Your struggles don’t have to define you. You can heal and thrive in life. Amanda wants to help you get there.
