My Approach to Helping
My name is Amber Biello-Taylor and I have over a decade of counseling experience. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a certification in addictions. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR therapy and neurofeedback. I approach each session with compassion and an open and non-judgmental mind frame. In my therapeutic approach I like to utilize a holistic, mindfulness-based approach mixed with traditional psychotherapy techniques such as CBT and Motivation Interviewing. I typically like to work with clients who desire change and are willing to approach therapy with an open mind. For the past decade, I have helped people with various issues. These issues include substance abuse, anxiety, depression, anger, family issues, childhood trauma, financial issues, chronic pain, parenting, blended families, and more.
My communication style is compassionate and gentle but I can also be straight forward with the individuals permission. First and foremost I think it is imperative to build rapport with people. I was fairly young when I first realized that I loved psychology. Throughout my life experiences, I grew a passion for wanting to help others overcome feelings of hopelessness, depression and distress. What drives me to do this work is the hope that I can help people to find passion and purpose and restore a sense of fulfillment and well-being in their lives. I work together with individuals to see what they hope to gain from treatment, and how I may be able to assist in guiding them towards their goals. During our first session together I will get to know you, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from working together.
