My Approach to Helping

You deserve to feel empowered during your journey of self-discovery. My experience integrating a social justice lens into my practice allows me to recognize your identities and how they may impact your experiences. I strive to take the mystery out of therapy and encourage openness and honesty during our work together.

My therapeutic style embodies the belief that our environment, society, and the people that we come into contact with can play a variety of roles in how we interact with the world. I primarily utilize systemic, person-centered modalities while integrating skills and strengths-based approaches that fit best for you and your individual goals.

I believe that your interests and passions should be celebrated and emphasized in your therapeutic journey. I am personally and professionally familiar with geek and gaming culture and encourage you to bring these interests into your treatment if you also belong to these communities. I invite you to reach out to me to learn more and to see if we may be a good fit.

Our Mission
Game to Grow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the use of games for therapeutic, educational, and community growth. Game to Grow believes in the inherent benefits of games to those who play them, and understands these benefits are enhanced when games are intentionally facilitated by a trained professional. Our organization has three main goals: 1. Provide therapeutic and educational gaming groups that contribute to the growth of communities. 2. Promote an understanding of the power and benefit of games across the world. 3. Train others to use game-based interventions intentionally to help youth and other populations.

Individual Counseling Services
Game to Grow provides effective, accessible, and professional individual counseling services via telehealth software, tailored to the specific needs of each individual client. In addition to their individual specialty areas, each of our clinicians have specialized training and experience in working with individuals who identify as geeks and gamers. We strive to offer affordable counseling rates to the community, making mental health and wellness services affordable and accessible to all.

Therapeutic Social Skills Groups
Game to Grow’s weekly therapeutic social skills groups help participants become more confident, creative, and socially capable through the intentional facilitation of customized, collaborative gaming experiences. Our facilitators use games of all kinds, most notably Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and Minecraft to help participants overcome personal challenges and form meaningful, supportive friendships. While a diagnosis is not required to attend groups, participants in Game to Grow’s therapeutic social skills programs are frequently struggling with challenges associated with autism, attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), social anxiety, or depression. Participants develop valuable skills related to self-regulation, perspective-taking, communication and collaboration, executive functioning, and imaginative play, all while playing games in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
