My Approach to Helping

My approach is relaxed and collaborative. I work to provide a realistic approach to managing life's stressors and struggles. I strive to create a safe environment for clients to explore what's happening in their lives and relationships, and I truly enjoying hearing my clients stories and working together to create movement in the direction they want for their lives!

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

-Hearing people's stories!
-Providing hope and encouragement
-Being the place where people can say and express exactly how they feel, what they think...giving them the safety to be who they really are and hopefully learn to take that with them into their "real" lives
-Seeing hopefulness enter someone's life
-Educating people about their emotions, their brains, their relationships, and how it all works together

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Academic and book knowledge are VITAL in this field - however, much of my compassion, understanding, and insight has come hard-earned through my own struggles and my own recovery. I firmly believe that one cannot guide another where he/she has not been, so all of my professional and life experience serves as a resource and toolset when I'm working with clients!
