My Approach to Helping
Do you feel stuck in a cycle of dysfunctional relationships and self-destructive patterns in your life? Are symptoms of anxiety and depression diminishing your quality of life? Do painful memories of the past continue to bother you? Have you tried to resolve these problems on your own or through traditional talk therapy with little success? Most treatment models fail to identify and address the trauma that underlies so many of the problems that people seek help for. A trauma-informed approach to treatment is necessary in order to fully resolve the root of the issues and create meaningful and lasting change.
My experience working in eating disorder and addiction treatment programs highlighted the enormous impact of trauma on our society and inspired me to specialize in trauma related issues & PTSD. I utilize proven evidenced-based therapeutic modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), DBT, CBT and mindfulness to help you find relief from distressing symptoms and overcome the barriers keeping you from living your best life.
My clinical style is warm, authentic, and non-judgmental, and I work hard to cultivate a safe environment for clients to feel comfortable being open and honest. I emphasize the importance of trust and connection between myself and clients, as I believe deeply in the transformative and healing power of the therapeutic relationship. I work collaboratively with clients to both honor their unique wisdom and experience and to empower them to take ownership over their recovery and their life.
You don't have to walk this road alone. Take the first step and reach out for help. Don't settle for merely surviving through life when you can thrive!

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
Throughout much of my life I have struggled to feel comfortable in my own skin. I believed that if I could just be thin enough, smart enough, beautiful enough, and successful enough, I would finally be worthy of love and acceptance. My quest for perfection led me down a dark path at the end of which I ultimately found myself isolated, burnt out, and hopeless. Exhausted and out of answers, I finally found the courage to ask for help.
With the support and guidance of my therapist, I was able to strip away the labels and ideas of who I thought I should be and return to my authentic self. I learned to love and embrace myself exactly as I am, imperfections and all.
It is now my mission and life purpose to take the wisdom and clarity I have gained and pay it forward. I utilize evidenced-based treatment models such as Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) along with philosophical and spiritual perspectives such as mindfulness to help others find relief from their suffering.
I deeply empathize with the feeling of fear and isolation one feels when suffering in silence, and the courage it takes to reach out for help. If you are feeling stuck in self-destructive patterns and are struggling to cope, then I would love to meet with you and tell you more about how I can help. Despite how painful your journey might have been, know that healing is possible.
