Mental Health in Los Altos
The Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) provides support and counseling services to people in Los Altos and neighboring cities. Services are also provided to schools in the Los Altos School District. Students can access mental health resources on campus free of charge. The cost of these services is covered primarily by CHAC, with some funding coming from the school district.
The cost of providing individual counseling services in schools is roughly $77 per hour. In recent years, the Los Altos School District has increased funding to cover these costs in a more balanced way.
