My Approach to Helping
Hello! I'm Ana. My practice focus tends to be women or couples (including LGBTQ+) who want to learn how to love themselves and unlearn negative self-beliefs and habits (e.g. people pleasing). Many of my clients struggle with low self-esteem from past trauma which can lead to unhealthy relationship patterns and even self-destructive behavior. Even the current political climate can take a toll on your mental health and relationships! Meaningful change takes time and often it takes many baby steps! Seeking help through therapy is a (big) baby step! Let's take more steps together!
I see the most success in clients who want to learn how to better manage anxiety, complex post-traumatic stress (PTSD), attention-deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), self-esteem, and relationship struggles (e.g. infidelity, emotional reactivity, etc.). I take a direct yet compassionate approach and incorporate psycho-education and humor into my practice. I'm also a member of and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community.
Are you ready to explore the "Why?" behind how you feel, think, and behave and begin (or continue) your healing journey? Are you ok working with a therapist who swears and uses way too many parentheses (to provide context)? Please reach out to see if we may be a good fit! You have more control over your happiness than you give yourself credit for.
