My Approach to Helping

The most common phrase I hear when I ask new clients to describe themselves is "not good enough." As a result of invalidating life experiences, many of us come to believe that we are unworthy of acceptance. In order to avoid potential rejection, we conceal aspects of our identities that others might view as unacceptable, and we present a fragmented or incomplete version of ourselves to the world. While this can be beneficial in some environments, it also can become a barrier to intimacy. Many of my clients struggle to be vulnerable and find it challenging to embrace their full, authentic selves.

My task as a therapist is to create a safe environment in which you can be your whole self, without fear of judgment. I am committed not only to understanding and validating you, but also to helping you learn how to understand and validate yourself. My hope is that you will leave therapy knowing that you are enough and that you deserve love and acceptance.

I am a licensed psychologist, and I provide virtual therapy to adult clients. My specialties include LGBTQIA+ concerns (including referral letters for gender-affirming care), early childhood trauma, men's issues, relationship concerns shame, anger, depression, anxiety, and work-related concerns. More Info About My Practice

My practice is fully virtual, and I meet with clients via a secure, HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing system that feels similar to Zoom or a FaceTime call on the client end. If you are feeling uncertain about whether telehealth is a good fit for you, I'm always happy to provide a complimentary 15-minute consultation that will allow you to test it out and get a feel for what a typical session would be like.

Although I am based in Chicago and am licensed in both Illinois and Texas, I am also licensed via PsyPact, which allows me to practice telehealth in 42 states. A list of all participating states can be found at https:psypact.org.
