My Approach to Helping
Andrew is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor; he earned his master’s degree from Troy University in Tampa, Florida, and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision with Capella University. Prior to entering the field of mental health, Andrew was a member of the United States Army, and served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Andrew has experience working with adults across the lifespan and adolescents who struggle with various types of mental health diagnoses. Andrew has worked as a supervisor in the field of substance use and a primary therapist with all levels of care. Andrew’s counseling philosophy is predicated on results-based, client-centeredhumanistic care and believes in treating the whole person with interventions such as mindfulness and other holistic remedies. Andrew leans toward cognitive and behavioral therapies, dialectical behavior therapy, as well as acceptance and commitment therapy. “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” ― Mahatma Gandhi
