My Approach to Helping
In 1991, I received a Master's degree in Social Work, and I've provided mental health services ever since. In my over 20 years of practice, I've realized that there is no treatment model that fits every situation, so I take an eclectic approach, tailoring treatment to fit each client. Some models I use are cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, family systems theory, insight-oriented therapy, and interpersonal therapy. My clients come to me to deal with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, and parenting problems, as well as adolescence and phase of life issues, blended families, and other changes in life and adjustment issues. My goal for the therapeutic partnership is to help clients enhance their strengths and develop new skills to overcome obstacles to their emotional health. Together, we work to achieve their full potential.
