My Approach to Helping
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, supporting clients in assessing their overall functioning across life domains to identify opportunities for healing and growth. I recognize that trauma is often stored in the body, manifesting as low self-esteem, shame, anger, and other challenges. I integrate classic therapeutic models such as cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy with holistic practices like mindfulness, yoga, and artistic expression. I emphasize breathwork as a transformative tool for clients to develop and rely on. My background includes working with child welfare-involved families, providing therapy in oncology settings, and serving as a crisis clinician. As an African American therapist, I am dedicated to addressing racial trauma, strengthening community ties, and fostering holistic wellness.
