My Approach to Helping
Hello, My name is Angie Curtis. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona. I've been providing counseling services for over 10 years and specialize in working with children and families with trauma. My approach is strength-based and person centered. I'm currently getting trained in the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). Most of my experience has been working with children and families with trauma. I also have experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, attention-deficithyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and various life stressors. It's my goal to create a safe environment and treat all my clients with unconditional positive regard. It's also important that the individuals and families I work with feel heard and receive the best services I can provide. I've always been drawn to individuals in pain and driven to try to assist them. My primary focus became working with children in hopes of preventing them from experiencing more severe problems as they grow. It just makes sense to intervene at an earlier age whenever possible. Goals need to be about what the client wants to accomplish and to address the primary concern that brought the individual andor family to ask for assistance. The first session will include a review of the consent paperwork, limits of confidentiality, and information gathering to help me understand your needs and goals for services.
