Fees: I do not contract with insurance companies, but am covered under out-of-network benefits. I am happy to check the coverage that any insurance policy might have for my services, and will also file claims on your behalf.

My fees are $235 for the initial session (75 minutes), and $198 for subsequent sessions (60 minutes). For those who pay in full at the time of the session, and for whom I do not need to file insurance claims, I discount my fees by $25 per session.

I do not offer a formal sliding scale, but will lower my fees for clients with financial limitations. I base the discount on your most recent tax return, as well as life circumstances.

I accept payment via cash, check, debit & credit cards, Flex-spending cards, and HSA cards.

My Approach to Helping

Welcome! I offer counseling, coaching, and psychotherapy using a straightforward and open-minded approach. I often rely on my sense of humor. I've studied numerous theories about why and how we behave, think, and feel the way we do. I've also studied therapeutic tools that can ease pain, diminish doubt and confusion, and eliminate or reduce problematic thoughts, feelings, and life circumstances. I've carefully evaluated which techniques help people move forward into satisfaction, improved communication, personal fulfillment, and self-awareness.

I draw from this knowledge base with each client, but I never use a one-size-fits-all approach. I get to know you, then create a treatment plan that fits into your life and addresses your needs. I offer a safe space to explore your life, your emotions, and your unique challenges in a warm and comfortable environment.

More Info About My Practice

I'll help you gain a better understanding of your feelings, behaviors, motives, and thoughts, in addition to aiding your understanding of the people you love the most. I'll extend support to you during painful times, challenge you to gain control over your life, work with you to develop goals, offer you strategies for achieving them, and celebrate with you when you succeed. I help you master new ways of seeing things, methods that can boost your communication skills, and tools that can help you calm down when you're distressed by becoming more centered and calm.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I specialize in relationship therapy, and have extensive experience working with couples who are married, cohabiting, or divorcing. I also help business partners, parents and children, and siblings navigate relationship challenges. I've worked with diverse couples, including both LGBT and heterosexual couples. I've undergone training in several models for treating relationships, including Gottman's approach, PAIRS, Imago, Terry Real's couples counseling, emotion-focused therapy, and many others. I apply these approaches on an as needed basis to each couple, while respecting the needs and desires of each individual and couple.

I enjoy helping people manage their relationships, and have helped numerous struggling couples bring joy back to their relationships.
