My Approach to Helping

Do you ever get the feeling that you're being weighed down by life and it all just seems relentless and hopeless or like it's closing in on you? Maybe it's unresolved issues from your past. Maybe it's struggles in your relationships or confusion about who you are or where you're going in life. Maybe you feel lonely or empty. Maybe you sense that something really bad happened to you when you were younger, but you just can't remember. Maybe you bottle up your feelings and then find that the smallest thing makes you cry or become angry. You might feel stuck, lost, overwhelmed, inadequate, anxious, empty, resentful.

You are not alone. I have over 8 years of experience working with people facing these issues. Life is already hard enough as it is, so calling in a professional like me who has dedicated their career to helping people just like you is a wise and thoughtful choice. Let me take the guess-work out of it for you. Let me navigate these difficult and complex issues with you so that you can learn, grow, and progress. Let me help you become the person you want to be and have the life you want to have.

Together, we will explore your feelings, your circumstances, and your options. Therapy with me will feel like unpacking a heavy suitcase, one item at a time, and discovering what you've been carrying so that you can decide what to keep, what to let go of, or what to reorganize. I will provide you with a safe, empathetic, kind, judgment-free space and I will work with you to help you regain control of your life and yourself. You will learn skills to build trust, communicate effectively, increase your sense of self-worth, and prioritize your true needs—so that you can create deeper, more meaningful connections and so that you don't have to continue feeling so hopeless.

If you’ve never gone to therapy and are nervous about taking the leap, reach out to me for a no-obligation free consult. I have a very down-to-earth style and I'll talk with you like a real human being, not like a client. You are so much more than that to me and I intend to show you. My genuine, kind, inviting demeanour will make you feel warm, welcome, and seen. I will hear you out, free of any judgement no matter what thoughts and feelings come out, and you will finally have a place to just. be. you. I am here for you and I cannot wait to meet you.

More Info About My Practice

I've been where you are and I've struggled the way you're struggling. That's why I started my private practice, Bespoke Clinical Counselling, so that I could help people the way I wish I had received it. Click through to my website using the button on my profile to learn more.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

So many people think that if they ask for help or they can't solve the problem on their own, then they must be weak or incompetent. This is a lie that has been perpetuated by a broken society fixed on making people feel inadequate so that they can be easily controlled. If you have a low self-image, you'll buy the beauty products. If you feel lonely or empty, you'll buy into social media and dating apps. If you feel inadequate or insecure, you'll buy items that are designed to make you think you'll be happier, cooler, sexier, more successful, etc. But all of those examples are different forms of the same trap. If they make you feel bad then you'll buy their product. The ONLY true investments you can make that will bring you genuine happiness, security, self-esteem, and love are in your health, your mind, and your relationships with your loved ones. So no, going to therapy does not make you weak or flawed. It makes you a real human being with real human problems who just so happens to be wise and brave enough to acknowledge that you are not an expert in everything. Countless therapists like myself have dedicated years of education and practice to understanding the human psyche and how to manage it. This is what we do and have learned to do through rigorous training. It makes no sense that a person who does not have that background should somehow be expected to be an expert in it. You wouldn't be upset with yourself for not knowing how to heal yourself from a horrible disease if you're not a doctor, or not knowing how to construct a 70-floor skyscraper if you're not an architect, so why should you be upset with yourself for not knowing therapy if you're not a therapist. Give yourself a break and push past the lies that you've been told. Ask for help. It'll be the best decision you ever make.
