My Approach to Helping
I strive to understand my clients and what is preventing them from living the best life possible. I have provided therapeutic treatment for over 20 years to clients. I specialize in treating depressive and anxiety conditions along with relational issues. My approach helps to increase control over the emotions and beliefs that are keeping you stuck. By learning about what triggers reactive states we can work to apply coping skills and avoid undesired behavior patterns. If you find yourself in a loop that you would like to get out of, let's work to increase your self-awareness to break the ineffective cycle. You are the expert on yourself. I am trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). DBT adapts cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to assist patients in managing stress. I have found my training invaluable in assisting clients to achieve their goals.
We all have the need to be heard, understood, and acknowledged. Not feeling like we are is so often the cause of emotional distress. I believe there is nothing more important than understanding and validating emotions in relationships. That is what I endeavor to do and teach you to do for yourself and others.
