My Approach to Helping

I specialize in providing compassionate, culturally competent care tailored to the unique needs of those navigating complex life transitions and challenges. My practice is deeply rooted in a commitment to social justice, driving my passion for helping clients build resilience and embrace their strengths. When working with me, you can expect a collaborative, empathetic approach that prioritizes your autonomy and empowers you to achieve your mental health and life goals. My focus on trauma-informed care, identity exploration, and holistic wellness supports clients in their journey toward healing and self-empowerment.

As a white woman (sheher) in a biracial marriage with a Latino husband, a military spouse, and a global citizen with life experiences living in Germany, Hawaii, and England, I bring a unique, empathetic, and culturally informed perspective to my work. I understand the complexities of navigating cultural and ideological differences and the challenges within interracial relationships, living abroad long-term, and significant life transitions. These experiences inform my practice, allowing me to provide culturally sensitive care that resonates with diverse backgrounds. Whether addressing life stressors, exploring the dynamics of interracial relationships, or guiding clients through life changes, I am committed to fostering understanding, resilience, and healing in a supportive and inclusive environment.

I am providing only telehealth psychotherapy services for folks in Maryland.

More Info About My Practice

Resilience is at the core of my therapeutic approach. I believe in the power of individuals to recover, adapt, and grow, even in the face of adversity. My personal and professional experiences have taught me that resilience isn't just about bouncing back; it's about transforming challenges into opportunities for growth. This belief drives me to empower my clients to harness their inner strength and build the tools they need to navigate life's difficulties. In our work together, I strive to create a space where you feel supported and encouraged to explore your potential, embrace change, and develop the resilience needed to thrive.

Furthermore, my values are deeply rooted in compassion, cultural competence, and social justice. I believe that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and understood in the fullness of their identity. These values guide my approach to therapy so clients can explore their experiences and challenges without fear of judgment.
