My Approach to Helping

It can be difficult to find the right therapist for you, but it is worth the investment. Perhaps I am a good fit to be your therapist. I work with each person to discover what their needs are and how to collaboratively meet them. I meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to go. I integrate many techniques and approaches to help you meet your goals, including somatic experiencing and EMDR. I view people as human beings with human struggles, not diagnoses. If you are looking for a therapist who is warm, open, approachable, and has a sense of humor who will work with you in a way that is consistent with your hopes and values, then please consider contacting me. Even if I am not the best fit for you, I can likely recommend someone who is a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you!

More Info About My Practice

My practice is currently remote only. No in-person appointments are available at this time. I am licensed in both California and New York and welcome clients from either state or those who are bicoastal.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

If you have not been in therapy before, or you have had a negative experience in therapy in the past, I understand your hesitance. Therapy can often appear to be a mysterious and even intimidating process. However, I will answer any questions you have to keep the process open and honest. Additionally, I encourage you to take the lead in your own therapy, discussing what is important to you. You set the agenda and I join you on your journey.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

I actively work to dispel the myth that there is something "wrong" with going to therapy. Rather than viewing going to therapy as a stigma, I consider it a strength. If you are in therapy, then you are acknowledging that it is difficult to be human and it is valuable to reach out for support. For me, that demonstrates insight and health.
