More Info About My Practice
I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, which is a form of insight-oriented talk therapy. This type of therapy links experiences and patterns throughout the lifespan to the person's present sense of self and emotional states. This insight can can help with deepening self-awareness, decreasing unpleasant symptoms, increasing confidence, improving internal flexibility, and generally feeling better. In addition, I use my knowledge about the mind-body connection and mindfulness practices to help clients with whole-person integration.
My work with couples is informed both by my stance as a psychodynamic psychotherapist and my training in level 1 and level 2 of Gottman Method couples therapy. I use my training and understanding of attachment in relationships to help couples improve their communication patterns, deepen their friendship, and move toward authentic interpersonal respect and within the relationship.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
My authentic investment in the well-being of others and belief that we all deserve to live a contented life drew me to the world of therapy. In doing this work, I deeply appreciate having the privilege of walking alongside people who are in the process of finding their way toward self-understanding, feeling sturdier in being themselves, and generally feeling more at ease.
