My Approach to Helping

Is stress or anxiety keeping you up at night? Do you find yourself asking how did I get here? I am passionate about helping motivated adults to become unstuck, to enhance self-esteem and intimacy by figuring out their own direction. Sometimes the anxiety or depression we face is a symptom of a disconnection from our deeper selves, but the good news is your symptoms are not a life sentence, and my goal in therapy is to empower you to find your own authentic voice and to free yourself from patterns that no longer serve you well.

I have particular experience working with professional adults around career and life choices, self-image, sex-positivity and intimacy, and adults exploring purpose in their lives. I became a therapist after a prior career in law and finance, having experienced how therapy can massively improve our lives.

My approach is curious a nd collaborative so that you can explore your experiences in a safe and culturally sensitive environment. I will share the truth of what I’m seeing with kindness and respect and I believe that hope and humor have a place in therapy. I invite you to start by imagining what the best outcome could look like for you, and we'll go from there.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

I strive to listen for and understand what your best case outcome from therapy could look like, how your life could improve and what it would feel like for you to achieve your goals in therapy. This is usually a fun and engaging exercise in imagining what needs to change in your life to help you achieve your goals. The answers are highly personal, and they usually evolve and change quite a bit throughout our work in therapy. Identifying a desired, ideal outcome is a practical way of deepening your understanding around what fulfils and motivates you, and it helps us to keep our work in therapy on track.
