My role as a therapist is to guide you to better understand and accept yourself, to develop fulfilling relationships, and to create a life of more satisfaction and joy. Whether you are seeking help for yourself or for you and family members, having a safe place to talk is key.
I am skilled at working with emotional eating and food addiction. These are complex issues -- it's not just about food. You have thoughts and feelings that contribute to the problem, possibly relationship issues, sometimes historical events that have been significant, and deep beliefs that you may not even realize are holding you back. I help you tease out and address whatever is keeping you from having a healthy, happy relationship with food, your body, yourself and other people.
