My Approach to Helping
Are you having a hard time with new challenges that you’re facing or with tough issues you’ve been struggling with for a while? You may be feeling alone, overwhelmed, and stuck with how to make the changes in your life that you desire. It takes a lot of courage to start talking with someone about deeply personal concerns. If you decide to work with me, you’ll likely find me to be kind, empathetic, non-judgmental, practical, and challenging when it’s helpful.
My clinical approach varies, depending on the individual, their concerns, and their goals for therapy. I have specialized training in techniques that have been researched and proven to be effective, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), CBT-I for chronic insomnia, mindfulness-based stress reduction, solution-focused, strengths-based, and insight-oriented therapy. Overall, I use a collaborative approach during therapy that emphasizes the whole person (mind, body, and heartspirit), and that focuses on applying the individual’s current strengths and developing new skills to cope, grow, and increase well-being.
