My Approach to Helping
I specialize in working with individuals and couples. I approach the therapy process from a systems perspective and will invite you to consider the dynamics playing out between you and others. I have extensive training in EMDR, EFIT, and IFS as well as CBT. I will use these modalities to help you better understand the connection between your past and present, to better develop coping tools to manage distress as it occurs, and to better put words to the experience you're having internally.
More Info About My Practice
What sets me apart is the emphasis I place on the relationship between myself and my clients. I see my clients as collaborators in this journey towards growth and healing. I care extensively about ensuring that clients feel valued, seen, and important in the therapy space. I frequently check in with clients to make certain that the process is not only directed by me but also guided by their needs and concerns.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
I believe that change begins when you decide to look inwards, and to genuinely become more curious about how you arrived to have the tendencies and patterns you have. I also believe in first meeting the person and the stories you bring into the session room, and then second to get to working on the problems after. I believe strongly that the alliance and rapport established between therapist and client is what will help lead to greater healing and change.
