My Approach to Helping
I provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families for a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationships, and identity and life transitions, as well as other things. I welcome and celebrate diversity in my practice and have extensive experience working with the LGBTQ+ community.
My approach is founded on the belief that we all have the innate capacity for basic goodness, connection, and growth and that therapy can be transformative. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive holding space for sitting with painful feelings, exploring, and making meaning out of adversity. I have trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including contemporary cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and experiential therapies. I draw heavily on developmental psychology, mindfulness practices, and attachment theory. My background includes work in community mental health clinics, non-profits, psychiatric hospitals, and state programs, as well as private practice.
