My Approach to Helping

After nearly two decades in private practice, what I have learned most is that the human spirit is strong, resilient, and capable of greatness. It is this knowledge that keeps me eternally optimistic. Given the opportunity, I will do everything in my power to help you discover this truth for yourself.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The goal of CBT is to teach clients how to become their own therapist, capable of using a variety of coping strategies to effectively manage their feelings and reactions. Clients learn a system for restructuring negative thought, generating self-motivation, and changing unhealthy behaviors.

I am committed to providing clients with the highest quality of care and service possible. This is not just a slogan that appears on my letterhead, but rather a self-imposed expectation that I strive to achieve every counseling session. This is evident in many ways including the numerous positive reviews provided by current and past clients.

More Info About My Practice

I founded Strength for Change in 2001. My mission is to train and support other therapists in the practice of CBT and while making the therapy more readily available within the communities we serve. I have also authored and self-published a book titled A Parent’s Handbook: The Essential Guide To Obtaining Counseling Services For Your Child, and a multi-media program titled The 1-2-3 Succeed Program: Helping The Capable, But Disorganized & Unmotivated Student. The 1-2-3 Succeed Program is currently being piloted at a NJ school district with the hope that it will be as effective in the classroom as it is in the therapy setting.
