My Approach to Helping

You are courageous for managing this heaviness on your own, and even braver for taking the next step to reach out to a trained professional.

Let me guess, you are overwhelmed, overworked, and let's be honest, selling yourself short. You've been taught that your needs matter less than the comfort of others, and your are wondering if you deserve to be in the room you've found yourself in (hello imposter syndrome). Despite that, you are likely doing okay? But you are just SO tired, or maybe the trauma you have experienced in life is holding you back in some really major ways. You might be working, navigating relationships, going to school, parenting, all while trying to care for your self and stay sane in the process. I get it. I've lived it, and I'm still healing from it.

Change is hard! I help people re-evaluate negative beliefs they are living with that have emerged from trauma, family issues and ways we've all been socialized. I offer EMDR and CPT, leading treatment approaches for reprocessing trauma and helping bridge the gap between logic, feelings, and what actually feels true in our bodies and nervous systems.

You've already been managing this stress on your own. You are amazing for making it through every day, and for taking the courageous step to get help with a licensed professional. Bridge the gap, and reach out to me to see if I'm a good fit to help you along your healing journey.

More Info About My Practice

As someone who grew up in North Texas, I experienced the aftermath of the heroin epidemic in Plano in the early 2000’s. Unfortunately I lost some friends, and my beloved older brother to bipolar disorder and addiction. He was 22 years old.

This devastating loss led to soul-searching and research to try to understand why we lost him. I also experienced my own struggles with mental health and trauma during my adolescence and young adulthood that shaped the trajectory of my life. Through increasing my knowledge about effective coping strategies, self-care, family dynamics and engaging in my own therapy, which included EMDR to work through past trauma, I was able to heal.

It is my passion to help others heal, and to impact my community positively in the ways that I know how. What a gift it is to see and be seen by another, and I’m honored that I get to connect with others’ humanity for a living. I value each and every person I encounter as a counselor, and work diligently with you to co-create an effective, evidence-based treatment plan that helps you get past the pain and trauma you may have been holding onto for so long.

As I have gained more experience in the profession, it is now my true privilege to help create a community of therapists with the same passion to help others as myself. They are compassionate, creative, skilled and uniquely qualified in so many ways to serve the specific populations with which they have chosen to work. I can’t wait for you to meet the team!
