My Approach to Helping
My work with clients is not only based on years of practical application, but is grounded in clinical evidence and interventions. With a humanistic approach and a trauma informed lens, I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Polyvagal Theory, and Shame Resilience. I have spent the later part of my life studying and mastering clinical interventions to help those struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, and grief.
Sometimes what we go through in life, impacts how we feel about ourselves. My passion is helping people navigate their way through life's ups and downs. I offer a compassionate environment to hold space for all your feelings. In our work together you will learn how your thoughts shape your feelings. You will learn to incorporate tools to overcome your symptoms and help you shift your thinking and shift the way you feel. Together we will build on the strengths already present within yourself while learning positive ways to manage your mental health.
I work with people so they can become more of who they are . I help others learn who they are and accept themselves, rather than to help them to change who they are. I help them see how their individual traits might impact their relationships and life experiences. I believe wholeheartedly in accepting ourselves and our experience of life. By learning to work with ourselves instead of against ourselves we can learn to live more fulfilling lives. This is what my work as a therapist is all about.
Thank you for your interest in my practice. Give me a call to schedule a 15 minute phone consult and see if we are a good fit.
