My Approach to Helping
Hello! Thanks for reading my profile. I believe that our mental wellness is the core of our overall health. Every individual is their best advocate, but sometimes we all need to be motivated and empowered. Therefore, I provide cognitive behavioral therapy from a client-centered, strengths perspective.
My approach to therapy is integrative to fit the need of each individual client. However, cognitive behavior therapy is my preferred approach. I tend to utilize therapeutic tools such as journaling, life mapping, and mindfulness activities.
I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to change their circumstances, whether it is depression, poor confidence, anxiety, or relationship issues.
My clients often tell me, “It seems like I’ve known you all my life.” I am a supportive communicator and an effective listener. I believe that a therapeutic environment is conducive to positive change.
I have an innate desire to serve and care for others. Earlier in my life, I dealt with mental health issues and have been an advocate since.
My clients are encouraged to determine what their goals are based on their priorities.
I begin the first session with my clients in the same manner that I begin all new relationships with an open, nonjudgmental mind. Particularly with clients, we build rapport, make introductions, explain approaches and share what is expected from all parties, and then obtain reasons for treatment and pertinent background information.
