My Approach to Helping
Hello, my name is Breon Rose. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois. My approach to therapy involves collaborating with those I serve to decrease their distress and support their overall health. My approach to treatment requires teamwork and authenticity to solve problems. I utilize an interpersonal approach that emphasizes our sense of connection with ourselves and each other. In session, I highlight unhelpful thinking patterns and emotional wounds that hinder finding solutions. I also focus on distinct aspects of clients' identities and how this has shaped their lived experiences and distress.
I have much experience supporting working-class clients and communities. I also support teenagers, culturally diverse persons, young adults, aging adults, and LGBTQIA+ persons. My scope of practice includes anxiety, stress, relationship, mood, and trauma-related concerns. My role as a clinician is to support clients in rediscovering and redefining their power to address their issues. I prefer soft, direct communication to build our relationship.
At a young age, I recognized how important mental health and our unique experiences are to living a healthy life. Since then, I have been on a journey to bridge connections and communities through clinical practice. My goal as a therapist is to help others become the fullest version of themselves.
Clients are the experts in their experience. This means that I prefer to collaborate with clients to define goals. I also encourage clients who need more direction to reach their goals successfully. Prospective clients can expect a brief introduction to who I am and a fluid conversation about what brings them to therapy.
