My Approach to Helping

My name is Brett Bergvall LPC-S, Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner, Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (CART). I have been practicing therapy for over 10 years and people are my passion. We all have various struggles and assisting those to overcome their challenges and seek solutions is a rewarding experience. I believe in getting to know and understand those that I work with, as trust is an essential aspect of the therapeutic process.

I graduated from Houston Baptist University with a bachelor of science in psychology and received my master's in psychology at Houston Baptist University in clinical counseling. I began my therapeutic career trained in applied behavioral analysis (ABA) working in the home with families of children struggling with autism and other pervasive developmental diagnoses. I grew in my experience counseling children, adolescents, adults, and families struggling with dual diagnosis, trauma, and emotional regulation issues.

I am a TBRI practitioner working through various forms of trauma, awareness of these effects, and ways to overcome these trials. Everyone has an innate drive towards living their fullest potential as a person and artist of their life. Guiding them towards completion of this objective is a central focus of my therapeutic experience. I believe that understanding the whole person and awareness of inherent strengths drives us toward a full understanding of ourselves as an individual.
