My Approach to Helping
My approach to counseling is directive and empathic. I meet people where they are and want to help them get where they want to be. No two people are the same, so I tailor each session to meet my client's needs at that moment. I do not believe in putting people in a box to fit any specific therapeutic model. I choose to utilize my clinical training to provide a well rounded approach address each client individually.
More Info About My Practice
I am a part of a group called Anthology Counseling and Wellness. We believe in treating the whole person - body, mind, and spirit. Our clinicians include counselors who provide multiple modalities of therapy including EMDR, CBT, and addiction intervention.
My Therapy Focus
My goal in therapy is change. I want a client to feel relief quickly, and I want that relief to last. Initially, I focus on the immediate problem to decrease symptoms. Once life has stabilized, I like to delve deeper into the cause of the problem. I believe that understanding the reason behind the problem is necessary to prevent it. I work with clients to gain insight into their behavior and ultimately to make different choices that improve quality of life.
