My Approach to Helping
Sometimes life can be very stressful due to a variety of barriers. Anxiety, depression, or stress can interrupt our lives and lead to despair. Sometimes we have the feeling that we are alone in this despair and that nothing can help us improve. Negative thinking and difficult emotions can lead to poor self-esteem and isolation from those we love, as well as difficulties attending to responsibilities or striving towards our goals in life. I believe all humans have the capacity to change and achieve our goals to transform into the best version of ourselves, and therapy can be the first step to achieving these goals.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a specialization in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, substance abuse, interpersonal issues, men's issues, and child-adolescent issues. I have completed CBT and DBT training to help clients with negative thinking, achieve behavior change and improve emotion-regulation skills.
Life can appear stressful and scary at times, but it does not have to overwhelm you any longer. Taking the first step to begin therapy can be the path to recovery and gaining control of your life once again. I provide a warm and inviting environment for clients to feel listened to, understood, and respected. You are in control of your future that starts now.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Person-centered therapy can be a valuable tool for self-discovery and personal growth. By providing a safe and accepting space, it allows you to explore your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors without judgment. This can lead to a deeper understanding of yourself, your motivations, and what truly matters to you. Because the therapist operates with empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, you're empowered to take control of your own therapeutic journey, identify your own goals, and work towards solutions that align with your values and needs. This process can boost your self-esteem, improve your relationships, and help you develop a strong sense of self-acceptance, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling and authentic life.
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) can be a powerful tool for managing and overcoming a wide range of challenges. By focusing on the interconnectedness of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, CBT helps you identify and modify negative or unhelpful patterns. For example, if you struggle with anxiety, CBT can teach you to recognize anxious thoughts, challenge their validity, and develop coping mechanisms to manage your physical reactions to stress. This can involve techniques like relaxation exercises, exposure therapy, or cognitive restructuring, all aimed at giving you practical skills to improve your well-being and feel more in control of your life. Ultimately, CBT empowers you to become your own therapist, equipping you with the tools you need to navigate difficulties and maintain positive mental health long after therapy ends.
