My Approach to Helping
Bushra believes therapy can be life-changing for all of us, especially during a crisis. His approach to therapy is that it requires an empathic clinician who cares, listens to you, and is passionate about their job. Bushra believes you are the expert on yourself and a critical part of the treatment team. His philosophy is that both of you will collaborate to find coping skills and solutions to help you with any issues you might be facing and work together to create meaningful change.
Bushra has experience working with clients struggling with anxiety, anger management, posttraumatic stress (PTSD), depression, substance use issues, sleep issues, military concerns, low self-esteem, and other trauma or conditions. He also specializes in working with the veteran community and their families. During his sessions, he maintains a relaxed and affirming environment where you, as a client, can openly discuss anything on your mind.
He listens to your feedback and adjusts the treatment based on what works for you. Bushra uses various treatment techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Task-Centered Practice, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, and other modalities. He believes that through the work that you do together as a team, you will gain different tools to help you create a better life.
