My Approach to Helping
I understand that people seek therapy for a variety of reasons. You may want to address conflict in a relationship; you may no longer be able to manage or tolerate your symptoms; you may want to find meaning and fulfillment in your life; or you may want to gain a deeper understanding of yourself in the world. Whatever your goal, it helps to have a caring individual who will listen and guide you through this process.
Therapy can help you change. It can also help you change the way you experience what you cannot control. It can challenge you to address obstacles that prevent you from attending to your emotional and physical health. With successful therapy, your pain and suffering can be transformed into relief and joy.
I have over 25 years of experience and 17 years in private practice. I trained at MGH Harvard Medical School with expert therapists. Depending on what you need, I conduct both short-term, cognitive behavioral therapy and longer-term psychodynamic therapy. I am also trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and hypnotherapy.
