My Approach to Helping
If you have been feeling overwhelmed by stress, struggling with relationship issues or a recent crisis, feel depressed or anxious, therapy can be helpful in reducing distress and promote healing and personal growth. I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 19 years of experience working with adolescents and adults to provide Individual, Group, and Couples Therapy.
I have worked at several hospitals including Northwell Zucker Hillside Hospital and SUNY Upstate Medical University where I was also a clinical instructor and provided supervision. Some other areas of my specialty include borderline personality disorder and addictions.
My approach is based on evidenced-based treatments. I am always working from a psychodynamic model, but I am also trained in cognitive and behavioral treatments that may be more appropriate in certain circumstances. We would work together to gain insight and change longstanding negative patterns that are impacting your sense of well-being. The goal of psychotherapy is to create and sustain a happier and more fulfilling life. If you are considering therapy, I invite you to contact me for a free 15-minute consultation.
