My Approach to Helping
I believe that everyone encounters situations in life that call for guidance. Sometimes it's a life change that requires temporary support - or it can be more involved, such as recurring patterns or distressing events that require more long term exploration. I believe you are the expert in your own life and have the answers you need within. My goal is to offer a safe, sacred, non-judgmental and supportive space for you to find them. My approach is direct and down to earth. I want the people I work with to get what they need so they can manage their lives more effectively and joyously.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
Therapists can only guide their clients as far as they have personally gone in their own work which is why I strongly believe that anyone in this type of work should be doing, or should have done their own work. I know what it's like to sit in the other chair and how hard it can be at times. I also know how rewarding my life is now because of that hard work. I appreciate that how having had the right person there supporting me through that hard work was invaluable. Although I draw on the knowledge from my training, books and theories, it's my own struggles and growth that really creates connection to others. Anyone can read a book. When I sit with someone, I can't ask them to feel something or do something I haven't been willing to feel or do myself. By doing my own work I am also better at keeping my side of the street clean so I can maintain clarity and objectivity for the people I work with.
