My Approach to Helping
Are you experiencing feelings of restlessness, overwhelm and frustration in life? Do racing thoughts keep you up at night, finding yourself longing for more? Often these symptoms present when what we desire doesn’t align with our reality. At Aligned Counseling, I help you explore your circumstances, gain clarity, identify your values, develop coping skills and process trauma to feel confident in your skin and your decisions.
EMDR is my favorite approach to counseling. Instead of utilizing talk therapy and coping skills to address symptoms, EMDR provides an alternative to address core issues at hand. EMDR works to desensitize disturbance from trauma by reprocessing memories with a evidenced based protocol. Won’t lie, when I first learned about EMDR, it sounded a little “woo woo” to me, but I’ve experienced healing from it first hand and now it’s my go-to with clients!
You are worth making the time to process your struggles. It’s easy to put off therapy and to find a better way to spend your time. But, your mental health is arguably just as important as your physical health and I think your emotional pain has gone on long enough. Let’s address it. Together.
More Info About My Practice
If you prefer to sit on a couch and share space, I have a place on my couch for you. My office is located Downtown Phoenix. If you prefer to stay in your cozy clothes, avoid a drive or make a therapy appointment happen on your lunch break-I got you! Telehealth appointments are super convenient and easy to provide. Or if you wanna bounce back and forth from in person to virtual over time, you’re allowed to do that too!
I believe that a therapy room should be cute. Comfy couch, Anthro candles, seasonal candy. You know the vibe? Call me a dork, but I’m all about finding little things in life that bring me joy. Even in the worst of circumstances, we can find gratitude. I’m going to ask you to find them, but I’m going to do the same. Things that bring me joy: cozy pillows, gold accents, whip cream on my coffee, a pile of books and my cutie niece.
