My Approach to Helping
I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment that allows each person the freedom to experience and work through problems, develop solutions, and get constructive feedback at the same time. As a clinical psychologist and counselor with over 25 years of experience, my work with individuals and couples allows personal and relational strengths to become resources and tools for positive life changes.
More Info About My Practice
I have seen great results with holistic and integrative therapy that utilize the mind-body connection in a therapeutic setting. Our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and bodies are all resources that, when working together, increase motivation and drive to foster positive habits, healthy lifestyles and choices. With a practical approach that emphasizes self-education and awareness, those changes become easier to navigate within the therapeutic setting as well as through challenges faced outside of our sessions.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I help individuals develop a better relationship with themselves. Through the mind-body connection, health concerns can also at the same time be effectively addressed. I help couples transform dysfunctional relationship patterns into effective communication and interaction practices that foster connection, intimacy, trust, and wellness. These approaches can improve and increase satisfaction in all types of relationships (romantic, marital, family, work). Through supporting the need for functional and positive relationships, clients learn new tools and skills for understanding themselves and each other, and for managing life?s challenges. My experience is in treating the whole person (or relationship), not just a habit or a symptom, to discover the best ways to motivate, enhance wellness, and retain healthy changes. I have published research and facilitated classes in psychoeducation, self-development, intimacy, and other issues.
