My Approach to Helping
I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and brief solution-focused techniques as the driving force in my practice. I believe we all have barriers that we can overcome; it’s just a matter of how we elect to be the change. By incorporating coping skills and self-care as a priority in the healing and learning process, we are working to shift gears in the right direction. I have been a therapist and social worker for over 20 years. I am always learning and growing. I am the child and the spouse of a retired military member. I am the sibling of several active military members, both enlisted and officers, in each branch. My childhood has afforded me the opportunity to live all over the United States and abroad. I have also been fortunate to be raised by loving parents who elected to adopt 6 children of different races. These are my siblings who have grown up to thrive and persevere despite adversity. They have overcome mental illness, abuse, neglect, and labels. They continue to be my inspiration. As a mother of a child with Autism, I have a daily challenge and learning experience. This journey shapes me, and I would like to show you how your journey can shape you from a positive perspective. Please feel free to reach out to me!
